Welcome to the Home of the Blackstone Valley Chapter, #4735, Harley Owner's Group
We are all about RIDING and having FUN!!!

Founded in 1991, we draw our 180+ members from both Southern Massachusetts and Northern Rhode Island. We enthusiastically support and ride annually to raise funds for local charities like Sturdy Memorial Hospital, and the Attleboro Area Council for Children's "Christmas Is For Kids" Toy Run. Please take a look around and enjoy our web site. We hope you will be inspired to get on your Harley, come ride with us, and discover why our motto is: "Always a Good Time With Blackstone"

Member's Only: Here's the August Newsletter.

ON THE ROAD - This Week In Blackstone:

- Officer's Meeting:

All Officers are asked to meet at the N.A. Elks, Wednesday, September 1st, at 7:30pm.

- Thanks for Coming Out!

I want to say THANK YOU again to all the Members of the Ride Committee for making our Poker Run a great success. We started six months ago with an idea, and all of you worked really hard and gave a lot of your time to make it happen. We had awesome weather, a great route, great stops, and the feedback from the riders who supported us was very positive.

At the end of the ride we had great food, and the best live music we've ever had courtesy of "The Hitmen," who I can't thank enough for donating their time. I wish I could name everyone who volunteered or came out to ride, but you all know who you are, and you should be proud for your part in making this run a success. There's no doubt in my mind the word is out that we nailed this one, and I bet next year we'll have even more riders. Thanks again, and remember...Blackstone Rules!!

- "Jackson," Ride Committee Chair

AROUND THE BEND - Upcoming Events:

- Annual Chapter Fall Barbecue:
- Wednesday, September 8, 2010

Blackstone's annual Fall Barbecue will take place next week at the NA Elks. We will begin at 7pm with an abbreviated business meeting, and the floor will also be open for any final nominations for the four Primary Officer positions. Nominations will then be closed, and the election will be held at the October Chapter Meeting.

After business has been concluded, we will enjoy an excellent barbecue meal to celebrate one of the best summers we've had in years, and to welcome in the fall riding season. You must have a ticket if you plan on eating! If you need one they are still available from Membership Officer Ed Blair for $10.00.

- Upcoming Rides:

- Hogback Mtn; MDA Run:

This Saturday, September 4th, RC Dave Miller leads the first ride of the fall season to Hogback Mountain in the Mount Snow Valley of Vermont, leaving at 9am. Please note this is an all day ride.

On Sunday the 5th, please come out and ride to support Minuteman HOG at their annual MDA Ride for Life. Leaves at 10am. Ron Hawkins will be the Road Captain.

Please remember that ALL RIDES leave from Man-Mar unless OTHERWISE NOTED.

Blackstone Valley HOG members like to Live By It. What does that mean? Probably a lot of different things to different people - but we Live By It - every time we hit the road together. Check out this video to see what that means to us:
If you want to Live By It, JOIN US. Harley-Davidson motorcycles aren't built to be "garage jewelry;" they're meant to be ridden. 17 grand and 17 miles doesn't make you a biker, so what's your excuse? Take the cover off that fine Milwaukee iron and shine her up before she gets mad at you. Gear up and head out onto the road for a taste of true freedom...you can cut the grass later. IT'S TIME TO RIDE!
- Firm Locke, Director.
